Recognisable symptoms and possible repair procedures
These are examples of symptoms we can investigate. A symptom can have several causes; examples are not claims of a manufacturing defect and do not apply to every model.
GR III: “Memory card error”
The card, format or camera may be responsible. Protect your existing photographs first.
Our inspection approach: We test a compatible working card, then inspect the SD slot and electronics. A damaged slot is replaced when a suitable part is available.
GR series: lens jams or shooting will not start
Do not pull the lens out by hand after impact or dirt exposure.
Our inspection approach: We inspect the extension mechanism, drive, sensors and flexible connections. Repair options depend on the model and damage.
Dial, buttons or screen respond inconsistently
Tell us whether an input skips, repeats or does not register.
Our inspection approach: We check contact assemblies, connections and control electronics. Depending on the findings, work may involve servicing contacts, repairing a connection or replacing a part.
Check the official Ricoh documentation ↗ for model-specific messages and limitations. The repair possibilities described here are our inspection approach, not manufacturer instructions for DIY repairs.
What to include in your enquiry
Send the full model name, camera mount where relevant, exact error message and when the problem occurs. Tell us about impact, liquid exposure, previous opening and any adapter or additional equipment. A short video can help explain an intermittent fault.
We first establish the cause and check the required parts. Not every model or type of damage can be repaired; we discuss options, price and an estimated turnaround before work starts.
Our workshop is at Milorada Miškovića 23, Banjica, Belgrade. We are open Monday–Friday, 09:00–16:00. You can speak or write to us in English. Before sending equipment, agree which accessories to include.
