Nikon: Press shutter release button again — what next?

A request to press the shutter release again does not automatically mean the shutter needs replacing. When it appears, whether it repeats and what happened beforehand all matter.

Why is the message alone not enough?

The Nikon D3500 manual advises trying the shutter release again and contacting service if the error persists or occurs frequently. Use the appropriate manual for other models. The message does not identify one specific failed part.

Inspection distinguishes mechanics, drive, power and electronics. Relevant mirror and shutter assemblies are also checked on DSLR cameras. The extent of repair cannot be reliably estimated without inspection.

What should you record before visiting?

Prepare the body model, lens name and exact message. Tell us whether it followed a drop, continuous shooting, a long period of storage or ordinary intermittent use.

Battery state, an adapter or other accessories and whether the last photographs were saved correctly are useful details. Do not deliberately reproduce the fault if the camera jams or makes unusual sounds.

What should you avoid?

Do not move the mirror or shutter curtains by hand or insert objects into the camera. These parts are delicate and pressure can increase damage.

If the error returns after the procedure in the manual, stop using the camera and arrange inspection. Do not repeatedly try to release the shutter after impact or liquid exposure.

How do we approach repair?

We inspect the equipment and the conditions that trigger the symptom. After finding the cause, we explain the required work, parts sourcing and estimated cost.

Bring the camera to Banjica or contact us about courier delivery. Include your contact details and a fault description. Inspection is required even if you found a similar case online.
